Oak Park River Forest Infant Welfare Society to Host 2nd Annual Day at the Races Fundraiser on May 2, 2009 Celebrating the Kentucky Derby in Support of The Children’s Clinic OAK PARK, IL. Enjoy
the Kentucky Derby River Forest style
at the 2nd Annual Day at the Races fundraiser on Saturday, May 2, 2009
from
3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Hosted by the Oak Park River Forest Infant
Welfare
Society, proceeds from the event will enable The Children’s Clinic,
located at
320 Lake Street in Oak Park, to continue providing health care to
children in
need. This
fun, outdoor event will be held on the grounds of a private River
Forest
mansion and will feature a viewing of the Kentucky Derby, a
southern-style
buffet catered by Wishbone Restaurant, and an open bar including
traditional
Derby cocktails such as mint juleps and whiskey sours. Guests will
enjoy live
entertainment provided by the band Go Tickets for the Day at the
Races fundraiser are $125.00 each and can Sponsored
by the Oak Park River Forest Infant Welfare Society, The
Children’s Clinic is a community supported health
care organization that provides medical, dental and social services for
children in Chicago and Cook County suburbs whose families cannot
afford
private healthcare. The Children’s Clinic provides over 8,000 health
care
visits to more than 2,200 children annually. In the last six months,
clinic
visits have increased by 22% and it is anticipated that the demand for
services
will continue to steadily rise. Proceeds from fundraisers such as the
Day at
the Races vitally impact the clinic’s ability to meet the increased
need for
health care services and act as a safety net for families in need in
our community
