Our State officials have been everywhere in the past
few weeks, from Memorial Day Parades, Memorial
Day Presentations, and now at the Day in Our
Village event.

At each and every event citizens came up and discussed
all issues before the Illinois House and Senate, and many
also said a big thanks to both of these respected local politicians.

Legislators, Staff, and other past and present elected officials all
gathered to discuss a multitude of local issues.

Day in Our Village on Sunday in Oak Park

Opportunities to learn abound Sunday at A Day in Our Village
Sunday's 36th annual A Day in Our Village festival will feature more than 150 organizations, including the Village Board, Citizens Involvement Commission, Community Relations Commission, Historic Preservation Commission, Farmer's Market Commission, Police, Fire and Medical Reserve Corps. Even ComEd will be on hand with information on how to make homes more energy efficient, an important goal that could mean cash incentives for Oak Park property owners through the ComEd Community Energy Challenge. The all-inclusive, annual festival is held from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. in Scoville Park, at Lake Street and Oak Park Avenue. The event offers opportunities to become volunteers, join an organization, patronize a local merchant or service, meet neighbors, enjoy special activities, make new friends, join a congregation and generally support the community spirit. Among the various activities will be games, demonstrations and entertainment, as well as a food court featuring local restaurants. Rehm Park & Pool (Garfield Street at East Avenue) also will offer a range of activities from noon – 5 p.m. Click here for more information, including a list of activities.
