Race Relations and the Nation...things don't change and people don't seem to Speak Much About it.

Yesterday President Obama chose to have an outside photo opportunity and tour of the White House for Sergeant James Crowley and Professor Henry Louis Gates, Jr. He reportedly asked Vice President Biden at the last minute.
The press was kept half a football field away and unable to hear what was
said by the four men, but this information was given: President Obama drank Bud Light, Vice President Biden drank Bucklers, Sergeant Crowley drank Blue Moon, and Professor Gates had a Sam Adams Light.
We are also told that some brought their kids for the tour of the White
House and that the men met in the Oval office before going outside for a short photo op.
Reports after all the beer was consumed state that the two men of the hour,
Sergeant Crowley and Professor Gates did not apologize to one another
and each had their own perspective of the events that led to all the trouble.
They therefore left having had their beers, a tour, and some photos taken.
The President stepped back a day or more ago from calling the arrest an
act of "stupidity " by the police department after he was made aware that
police across the nation took offense to those prejudicial remarks when
the President noted that he did not have all the facts.

or perhaps police don't like teachers and students from Harvard.
This is Professor Gates whose demeanor or comments, perhaps loutish and
boorish will be judged later. He is reported to be friend of President Obama.
The police are probably also friends of Obama, but he may not know that
and may have forgotten them when he called their actions "stupid".
The Police report from below addresses some of the alleged behavior resulting in the arrest of Professor Gates, alleged behavior that appears to have a couple of signatures attesting to it.
In Oak Park our current High School board and some of the administrators are trying to put before themselves an official move that would make it policy to have racial profiling of sorts be used in hiring new teachers, minority targeted teachers, prejudiced in favor of racial quotas. I am not sure how the unions will take to that, perhaps actions like the fire fighters took and were voted down by Sonia Sotomayor
(later over turned by the United States Supreme Court).
Oak Park's budget caps in the coming year of 2010 will only allow
for the taxes to increase some 0.01% so perhaps some of the geniuses
on the board will have to find different ways to function with pedagogy
other than putting up lights, garages, and fields.
