Wednesdays, July 25 - August 15 review by Ed Vincent Megan Wells, a gifted bard, an imaginative provocateur of live drama, continues her gilded path of delighting the young and old with her tales of adventure. Wells is now assisted by a wonderful troubadour in his own right, Mr. Jeff Teppema. Mr. Teppema plays music of his creation, and countless special effects to assist the tales being presented by Wells. The children were all captivated by the expressive drama that Megan Wells presented in this years special, "The Firebird". Austin Gardens is a grand theater in the making, when the light fades from the evening's sky, and the magical drama of the Firebird is illuminated with sights and sounds of music and charming stars and moon appearing on stage ( don't forget the other stars above....). ![]() Young and Olde Alike are marveled with the show. © Suburban Journals of Chicago Inc. photo ![]() ![]() © Suburban Journals of Chicago Inc. photos ![]() ![]() © Suburban Journals of Chicago Inc. photos Megan Wells transforms from Troll to Giant, from Firebird to drunken youth, and from Wolf to numerous other characters - in the flash of an eye. Her metamorphosis is smooth and polished, as she uses all of her presence to manifest the roles. ![]() ![]() In a Brief Moment of Respite Wells reflects on point of narrative. © Suburban Journals of Chicago Inc. photos The show is a treat, the theater under the stars a gem, and there is a seat waiting for you in this fanciful drama of a faraway land.
